To go along with our book of the month "Olivias Feathers" the Polar Bears have been exploring shredded paper to find owls, they were supported and encouraged to count the owls from 1 to 5 and they explored differences between both big and small 🦉

Today's baking activity was flapjacks. We spoke about the different ingredients we were going to use and used topic words such as 'pouring' 'measure' 'mixing and 'ingredients'. The children were all able to take turns throughout with their friends. They enjoyed their flapjacks at snack time. 🍰

Following on from the potato activity we decided t

Following on from the potato activity we decided to challenge the children to see if the could open up the potatoes using different utensils. We provided potato mashers, forks and spatulas, the children were really engrossed in the activity using their fine motor skills to open them up. One child says 'it is hard' and another sought help from a friend when a challenge occurred.

Today's finger gym was using potatoes and facial features to create our own faces. The children demonstrated concentration skills when trying to twist the pieces into the real potatoes. They stayed focused throughout and giggled with their friends throughout. 🥔😋😝☺️

As part of road safety week Polar Bears have been using different resources for junk modelling to create their own car. They spoke about the different colours of the traffic lights and what each colour meant, together they learnt about how to stay safe around roads too and explored different vehicles 🚗🚦
